Noiduin, meaning “I Cast a Spell” in Estonian, is a Finnish pagan folk ensemble whose music combines ancient folk traditions, a shamanistic worldview and pagan mysticism. The ensemble’s sound is deeply rooted in Finnish nature and Nordic heritage. The members of Noiduin do not merely play traditional instruments; they also craft many of them by hand, using natural materials and old artisanal techniques.
At the heart of Noiduin’s sound are the kantele and the jouhikko, strengthened by fierce frame drums made from reindeer and moose hide. Their soundscape is further enriched by horn instruments and percussion made from natural materials.
The band’s live performances form a hypnotic and atmospheric whole, with songs flowing seamlessly into a ritualistic journey. A Noiduin concert is not merely a listening experience: the audience is drawn into dance, rhythm and a trance-like state.
Although the ensemble’s roots lie deep in the North, Noiduin’s spell resounds across the world. Their music has attracted more than 20,000 monthly listeners in over one hundred countries, and their tracks have been streamed more than 700,000 times on Spotify.
In 2025, Noiduin’s music was also selected for the official trailer of the video game “Call of Duty: Warzone & Black Ops 6”, bringing their primal and ritualistic sound world to an even wider international audience.
