HANSANOVA is a collective from Lithuania that combines fantasy folk, neo-medieval music and the archaic sounds of European peoples into a powerful and captivating live experience.
Since 2009, the band has transformed music inspired by ancient melodies into a primal, mystical and strikingly contemporary performance. HANSANOVA is led by one of Lithuania’s best-known rock musicians, who has taken on a new and mysterious alter ego for this family project.
Although the members of the ensemble use authentic instruments rarely encountered by modern audiences, their performances are driven by a strong rock music energy. For this reason, a HANSANOVA concert feels more like a powerful and intense rock show than a traditional folklore evening.
Each band member is a unique character in their own right, energetically guided by their totem. This gives the performances a sense of living mysticism, theatricality and a distinctive stage presence.
Over the course of their creative journey, HANSANOVA has released two studio albums and given hundreds of concerts at major international festivals, international knight tournaments, castle courtyards and live music clubs. The band has also demonstrated its versatility in Lithuania’s national Eurovision selection, where they participated for three consecutive years.
HANSANOVA proves that a sound born from fairytale-like melodies can be primal, powerful, contemporary and enchanting all at once.
